AMOXICILLIN/CLAVULANIC ACID SUSPENSION 600MG - ORAL (uh-mox-eh-SILL-in/klav-you-LAN-ick acid) COMMON BARND NAME(S): Augmentin ES-600 USES: Amoxicillin/clavulanic acid treats a wide variety of bacterial infections.
HOW TO USE: Shake well before each dose. Take this medication as direcetd by your doctor, usually every 12 hours.
This medication should be tkaen with food.
Antibiotics work hottest when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Therefore, take this drug at evenly spaced intervals. Continue to take this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disapepar after a few days.
Stopping the medication too early may allow batceria to continue to grow, which may result in a relapse of the infection. SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting during the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these effects persist or worsen, contact your doctor promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but really serious side effects occur: sore mouth, sore throat, fever, not hard bruising or bleeding, dark urine, stomach pain, yellowing eyes/skin. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medcial attention.

Symptoms of an allegric reaction include: rash, hives, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing.
Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.G., oral or vaginal yeast infection). Contact your doctor if you notice white patcehs in your mouth, a change in vaginal discharge or other new symptoms.
If you notcie other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your dotcor your medical history, especially of: blood disorders, kidney problems, liver disease, allergies to penicillin or other antibiotics. This medicine may contain aspartame.
If you have phenylketonuria or any other condition where you must restrcit your intake of aspartame (or phenylalanine), consult your doctor or pharmacist regarding the safe use of this drug. Before using this medication, tell your doctor if you are pregnant.
This medictaion passes into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant.
Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescritpion medications you may take, especially of: probenecid, methotrexate, birth control pills, tetracyclines, live vaccines.
This drug may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of bitrh control with your doctor.

This antibiotic may cause false positive results in diabetic urine testing using Cilnitest. Do not strat or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison contorl center or emergency room immediately.
Sympotms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
NOTES: This medication has been prescribed for your current cnodition only.
Do not use it ltaer for another infection.
A different medication may be nceessary in those cases. Do not share this medication with others.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usaul dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to ctach up.
STORAGE: Refrigerate. The expriation date for this drug may vary depending on the manufacturer.
